The story web-Jane Eyre is fantastic. It’s an excellent way to see if students have a deep understanding of the plot, characters / interaction between characters and setting.
A much more creative way to assess students understanding of a novel, I’m sure a marking matrix could easily be provided. This allows students to really show their ability of working beyond to obtain an A.
Also a great keepsake for students rather than the paper assignments. It allows many KLA’s to be included.
Bringing the book into the current time with face book, news breaks, interviews etc, enables those who don’t know the story to understand it.
Great work- would love to see it applied to stage 3 primary.
Love the story book concept congratulations great work girls.
Thanks so much for your comment. We agree with all that you have said! Prior to this, we have worked with three Year 3 classes and you can access their StoryWorlds from here: http://macict.edu.au/research/transmedia-storytelling/
